Cocoon House
Cocoon House is an Everett-based shelter that’s goal is to “break the cycle of homeless” by providing short-term and long-term housing to homeless teens, reaching out to teens living on the street, and addressing preventative methods for teen homelessness—aimed at strengthening families. You can help out Cocoon House by cooking monthly meals for them, supporting with additional monetary donations, assisting in food/clothing drives, working at the front desk of their main office, volunteering to do backyard maintenance, hosting fundraisers similar to this one, and even considering to host a home for a homeless teen.
Hope Creek Foundation
Hope Creek Foundation is a Mill Creek based charity which runs both the Backpacks of Hope program and Mill Creek Food Bank—a community pantry originally organized by Henry M Jackson students like me. The Backpacks of Hope program donates non-perishable food and other essential school supplies, in a backpack, to elementary schoolers—using volunteers to fill and deliver these backpacks. On the other hand, the Mill Creek Food Bank runs every Thursday and—with reservations—any community member can come to pick up an allotment of free produce, meat, dairy products, bread, and canned foods.
